This year Breakthrough Breast Cancer called on bakers across the UK to bake cakes and help save lives for the super sweet event.
As Pink Hygiene’s chosen charity, staff gathered on 17th October 2014 to taste homemade treats and decide which bake was best. Everyone who attended made a donation towards Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s life-saving work.
Barry Marsham, the Director, says: “We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported our Breakthrough Bake-Off event. The money raised will help us take vital steps towards beating breast cancer for good.”
Breast cancer is not a done deal; it’s a disease that affects more and more women every year. The breakthrough was the first charity of its kind to set up a dedicated breast cancer research centre when no others existed, and now, funding more than 270 world-class scientists, Breakthrough is dedicated to saving lives through improving early diagnosis, developing new treatments and preventing all types of breast cancer.
